Lent Day 01 – Our God Hears Us
Ever wonder if your prayers are getting anywhere? Is God even hearing what you ask for? Sometimes it feels like my prayers are hitting a ceiling.
I offer them up and then…silence. Do you ever feel like that?
Confidence?
That not exactly confidence, is it?!
1 John 5:14 tells us,
“And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.”
He hears us. Period. The end.
What about the answers?
I may not see the answer I want. In the timing I want. But that does not mean that God is not listening.
He hears every word. Sees every tear. Celebrates with each joy.
The more time I spend talking with him, sharing my heart and listening for His voice, the more I will recognize His presence and hear His still, small whisper.
Let’s build our faith on Lent Day 1!
For today, it is enough for me to build my faith with the deep knowledge that the Creator God hears me when I call to Him.
I’m not special. He hears you too!
Action Step:
The focus for today is PRAYER!
Prayer: communicating with God, a back and forth (talking AND listening)
Today, right now, take a few minutes to share with Him whatever is weighing on your heart.
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7
He hears you AND He cares for you.
Prayer:
Dear God, thank You so much that you hear us. Every single time we call to You. Help us to draw close to You during this season of Lent. Build our faith as we trust Your word. Enable us to establish a habit of connecting with You. We want to burn with love for you and live a truly Christ-centered life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
