Ruth - A chapter by chapter weekly Challenge

Ruth Intro and Weekly Plan

One of my favorite books of the Bible is also one of the shortest and easiest to read. I thought we could take the month of January and tackle a chapter a week to get us into the Word and set good habits for the New Year.

This challenge in the Book of Ruth is a great way to start the year – and each chapter has around 20 verses – easy to establish great habits in the midst of a busy life.

Setting Great Habits

It gets us in the habit of staying in scripture, keeping each other accountable and encouraging one another on social media, interacting creatively with the Word to help it stick in our minds, and taking action on what we learn from the Bible.

In the midst of New Year’s resolutions about exercise and eating right and staying organized, the most important part of our lives, the spiritual part, can get forgotten. But it should not be left behind in the busy-ness of our lives and its routines.

The Plan

However, I do realize that our lives are busy. I have a plan that focuses on one chapter each week. It allows you to do small steps each day. If you fall behind, the weekend is basically two built-in catch-up days.

Here’s the plan for each week:

W: Interact creatively with the chapter and share with the #diaruthchallenge (dia is for Devotion in Action)

TH: Reread Ruth 1 and share a thought with a friend
