More Hope than a Lion - HOPE Challenge Day 4

More Hope than a Lion – HOPE Challenge Day 4

“Anyone who is among the living has hope—even a live dog is better off than a dead lion!” Ecclesiastes 9:4

When I picture Biblical animals, the best one is always the lion. A lion is majestic and beautiful. A dog is small and insignificant – common. However, where there is no life in the awesome and majestic, the living commonplace is full of hope.

While I am living , I will have hope. Bible art journaling entry for HOPE challenge Day 4. #diaHOPEchallenge

Similarly, the smartest and most talented people in the world seem like they should have so much hope. Their potential is huge. However, without the Life of Jesus inside of them, many are so hopeless, they turn to drugs, self-harm, or even suicide.

Who is in you?

However, the ordinary person, filled with Spirit of God, with His Life inside of them, can accomplish incredible feats because they have hope. The hope of Jesus brings purpose and power to everyday life.

Maybe you don’t feel all that special, but if you have accepted God’s gift of forgiveness through Jesus and made Him Lord of your life, the Holy Spirit is inside of you. You can have hope because of Who He is.

We don’t have to be the brightest, most talented, smartest, most beautiful, or best to have hope. We just have to be alive to the Holy Spirit.

Jesus gives more hope than a lion - HOPE Challenge Day 4

HOPE Challenge Day 4 Action Step:

Are you still alive? There is reason for hope.

Do you have the life of Jesus inside of you? If you have never made that decision, He offers hope in this life and eternal life in the next. All you need to do is acknowledge that you are a sinner (like every person on earth) and that Jesus died for your sins and rose from the dead. Ask Him to be Lord of your life.

Your prayer may be something like this:

Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life. I confess You as my personal Lord, my Master, and Savior. Thank You for saving me. In your name, Amen.

If you prayed that prayer, reach out and let someone know. I would love to hear from you at Amanda@devotioninaction.com.

HOPE Challenge Day 4 Prayer:

Dear God, Open my eyes to see Your life in me and be filled with hope in You. Help me to stir up my faith in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
