Something Beautiful #2: Clearly Seen – Romans 1:20
Sometimes the beauty of nature points us toward God. His character is clearly seen in the creation He designed. We see what is made and are drawn to cultivate a relationship with its Creator.
Pasque flowers
The purple flowers in our printable this time are called Pasque flowers. You might recognize Pasque as the root of Pascal (Easter season). They have a symbolic meaning of new life and hope. These delicate purple flowers bloom early in the year, bringing the hope of new life after the gloomy coldness of winter.
Response to Beauty
When we see beauty in nature, our response should be to be drawn to the glory of its Creator. This has been the case since the beginning of the world.

Seasons as Signs
Each year as the seasons rotate and a new one emerges, we are reminded of God’s faithfulness and how His mercies for us are new every morning. Flowers in early spring like the Pasque flower, summer bamboo, mums in autumn, and holly berries in winter – they all draw our eyes, hearts, and minds to the invisible qualities of God.
Because of the Lord’s faithful love
we do not perish,
for his mercies never end.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness!
I say, “The Lord is my portion,
therefore I will put my hope in him.” Lamentations 3:22-24
The Lord is my Portion
We choose what to think and what to say in response to this irrefutable proof of God’s faithfulness. We put our hope in the Lord. He is our portion and provision.
Action Step:
Take a short walk or even just step outside and look at something created by God. What does it tell you about Him? His attention to detail, His faithfulness, His intentionality, His provision – what invisible quality is displayed in the small part of Creation you glimpsed today? Open your eyes to the signs all around you of our faithful and good God!
